It's easy to get caught up in the day-to-day and forget what really matters to you. Started in New Orleans on the wall of an abandoned house by artist Candy Chang, 'Before I die i want to_____." allows anyone walking by to pick up a piece of chalk, reflect on their lives, and share their personal aspirations in public space.
Thanks to passionate people around the world, the project has expanded to South Africa, the Netherlands, Mexico, Australia, Portugal, Kazakhstan, and now Denver. Taken together, the Before I Die project offers a public space for contemplation and a snapshot of the values our neighbors hold dear/ Together we can make public spaces that better reflect what matters to us as a community and as individuals.
The Denver installation of "Before I Dies I Want To... " is a joint effort of Denver Parks and Recreation, Arts & Venues Denver, The Community Coordinating District 1, The Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design, Denver Design Build LLC., film documentary bu Blurred Pictures Studios.
